How to Tell a Real Blonde From a Fake Blonde?

Alright, so there is this “website” created to educate us on how to determine fake blondes vs real blondes. When I say “website,” i use the term very loosely because this is nothing more than one page with two photo examples. Seems a bit ridiculous to me and so do some of the claims.
For example, on discussing one of the “fake” blonde photos it says:
The second cannot fool anybody for saying that is her hair; mid. skin with brown eyes and wide face.
So I guess girls with wide faces can’t be “real” blondes?
I’m also willing to bet that there are plenty natural blondes out there with brown eyes and/or brown eyebrows, so please speak up.
I don’t know this is such a big issue? I don’t care if it’s real or fake blonde just as long as it LOOKS BLONDE then it’s alright with me

I’m blond (which has gotten darker since I were a kid, which is common) but I have very dark green eyes and fairly dark eyebrows. Many people don’t believe I’m a natural blond, until I show them pics of me as a young child. I looked quite different with very light skin, light hair these huge dark eyes. I’m multiracial too so would probably explain my looks.
The reason many people think that brown eyes with blonde hair is fake is because brown eyed blondes are rare. It is the blue eyed blondes that are generic and common. This is because during crossover the alleles for blue eyed blonde hair usually matches up. Very rarely do the brown eye blonde hair match up, and even if they do, its a crazy process. Therefore natural brown eyed blondes are rare and usually not seen. The majority of brown eyed blondes are said to come from the Balkans. That is where I am from. I was born with platinum blonde hair and dark brown eyes! Now it darkend to an ashy blonde, but its still blonde.

That is so stupid!! It made me laugh at how someone would actually devote their time to make a website like that! I’m a natural blonde and when i was younger it was really light almost platinum and i had light brown eyes and everyone would always tell my mom how beautiful i was and different it was. I still have blonde hair its kind of like Kate Hudsons color now very sunny color and i have green eyes…they changed color but i had brown eyes is the point. That person is Very ignorant!
I have baby-fine medium to dark blonde hair that lightens very easily in the sun. When I was a kid it was alot lighter, but never platinum. I have always had darker eyebrows and lashes, sort of a light ashy grey. My eyes are a light-brown/green hazel colour. I get a lot of people asking what my “real” hair colour is. I also have really prominent cheekbones, which I inherited from my mother, who is of Eastern European descent.
Because the genes that control our eye and hair colours and skin tones are separate, any combination of hair and eye colour is possible. Certain combinations are more likely, especially in homogenous populations, but there are always exceptions!
To Neil, claiming that all this is bullshit, that there’s no adults with real blonde hair..You are plain ignorant! You think that way because it seems like the majority of blonde women nowadays just die their hair, however, to think that there are no real blondes is plain stupid, I have seen real blondes, for example, in guys! some blonde guys have blonde hair from the root, and it’s real blonde, yellow! I have a friend who has dark brown eyes and real blonde hair, a guy. He cuts his hair real short, almost like a skinhead, but it is still as blonde as the color yellow, and he is already 21 or something
I have natural long light blonde hair with blue eyes and very fair skin. My hair colour hasnt changed that much as i’ve got older. I must say that i dont think i have seen natural blondes with brown eyes.
I have dark blonde hair with very dark brown eyes…. everybody claims its died because on top my hair is darker as im sort of loseing the blonde as i get older =[

I had blonde hair as a baby. My mother is a natural blonde with light green eyes. I have what many call dishwater blond (is that very light brown??) with darker blue eyes. My eyebrows and beard are all same color. Skin tone is medium. I have a daughter with same exact coloring as me, only her mother is Mexican with black hair,brown eyes and golden skin; go figure. Genes are a quite a wonder!

i dont understand why people cant just say whether they have real or fake blonde hair. Usually the ones that are fake make the stereotype of “the blonde” worse because they are just a dumb brunette under all that bottle blonde hair. Its really annoying! people end up calling people like me; who have natural blonde hair with foils; a dumb blonde and im not dumb; i do well at school and can read people very easily.

Like i said so few real blondes and most real blondes are not pretty- bland plain looking and ugly. More Brunettes have better faces.=)Most good-looking blondes you see in the media and everywhere are real brunettes they have the face of brunette! Even the ‘blonde bombshells’ like Marilyn Monroe, Scarlet Johansson, Jessica Simpson, Alicia silverstone, Ashley tisdale, Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson ect etc (search for “what is the real hair color of____) are real brunette! Most Swedish women have light brown hair, it is known Swede women admit so many of them dye their hair blonde. About only 20% of Finnish women are real blondes.

SO MANY wear blue contacts too esp. in the media as it’s idealized and they prefer blue eyes in photographs! One is Paris Hilton. search for celebrities who wear blue contacts.
I’m suffering from a bit of an identity crisis. My mom has auburn hair, my dad is blonde. As a newborn I was copper-haired, then turned platinum soon after. Throughout my childhood I had golden blonde hair, then I went strawberry blonde in my early twenties and now I’m turning 30 my hair is a horrible dirty blonde.
I am of Dutch, Scottish and French descent.
I have blue/green eyes and fair skin. My eyebrows are still quite light and my ‘peach fuzz’ is fair. So what do I normally dye my hair to? A light blonde. Or blonde highlights. It is the only color that really suits me.
A lot of Swedish women admit to dyeing their hair blonde. You can tell if someone is a real blonde as an adult (which is extremely rare btw) when their hair is blonde to the roots, extremely fair skin, light eyes (normally ice blue) and light eyebrows. And the hair on their skin is very light and fine. If you find an adult female with brown eyes and blonde hair - well… that is truly one in a billion!
I have natural golden blonde hair and almost black brown eyes, and dark brown/ black eyelashes… so yes it’s possible and no it doesn’t look fake, it’s all in the right spectrum. gotta love being a natural blonde!
also, only NATURAL blondes can shift seamlessly within the blonde color spectrum, all other colors because of higher amounts of the pigment eumelanin, have to “strip” the hair cuticle in order to achieve the appearance of blonde hair. Blondes with not natural blonde hair may have drier or more damaged prone hair… one way to spot a “bottle blonde”
There are few natural light-haired blondes worldwide. I have known blondes with different combinations of eye color and skin tone. Note that I have known them for years, so I know they are natural blondes. Does it really matter anyway? Being you is about your personality, the person you are on the inside, not what you look like or create on the outside. As far as the German study, I can’t quite believe it. As long as there are natural blondes having children, they are bound to continue to produce blonde children eventually no matter who they decide to have children with. People have found ways to color and alter their natural hair color for centuries, so as long as the world has been turning, if natural blondes were going to be extinct, I believe it would have happened many many years ago. Just my opinion.

You can tell a natural blonde from a fake blonde, by looking at their roots, if they have blonde hair in the front and on top, but dark roots, and dark bangs underneath, then they are a fake blonde. End of Story. Not being racist here, but just being realistic, people always rape real blonde women, just so they can mix them and make their children mxied. If you want to have kids with a natural blonde and your black, hispanic etc.. that’s perfectly fine. But… if you just go out and rape every single natural blonde you see you are a racist trying to extirminate a race of people, there for, your no better then the Nazis. Hey… I’m Mari Michelle, I am a teen and still have naturally blonde hair to this day. My mom is of German descent and my dad was fully Mexican, but I am white with blue eyes and medium blonde hair, with golden natural highlights. I know I am definitely a natural blonde because at different points in my life I have dyed my hair brown, black, red, you name it, and EVERY time I would get frustrated and retreat to blonde because of my light roots growing in. I’m still in the process of returning to my natural color, but yeah. I came online to find out about how likely ppl are to be naturally blonde and mixed like me… I hav always noticed “blondes” with dark brows and roots, which is obviously a giveaway that they r not natural. I am 16 and naturally light blonde. Born with red hAir. Within a week it turned platinum and stayed that way for awhile it’s getting darker but is still light.
First, I second what Danae rose says in response to “OK Everyone Should Know this Fact About Real Blondes” comment about natural blondes being ugly and bland. What a retarded thing to say. The fact that the commenter gets so defensive really does go to show that there are some (not all) bottle blondes and brunettes who ARE jealous of natural blondes. Otherwise she wouldn’t have felt the need to generalize and call a whole group of people ugly and bland (and in my personal opinion, that statement couldn’t be further from the truth; I’m a dark haired male by the way).
Second, the so-called “study” about natural blondes going extinct was dismissed as a hoax- no such a study that reached those silly conclusions was conducted as the hoax story reported.
Finally, I don’t think the piece about how to tell real blondes from fake blondes was claiming that there are NO natural blondes with dark eyes, rather it was saying that IN MOST CASES natural blondes will have blue or light eyes. And I have to agree that in my experience, having had several natural blonde girlfriends and having a preference for natural blonde women in general, MOST of the time (but not all) natural blondes do have blue, blue green, or gray eyes (light eyes in any event), light eyebrows, and ultra fair skin. I don’t deny that there are genuine natural blondes that vary from this pattern, but a person who DOES have those features is almost always a natural blonde. And like MariMichelle, if you’re natural blonde that’s something to feel proud about since despite what the commenter above says, a lot of people, including myself, think natural blondes are beautiful.

Hi guys I think I can take an impartial view on things - I’m a five foot eight fake blonde and I prefer my blonde on a man. I’ve spent a long time perfecting my particular shade which I fondly refer to as McDonald’s chip blonde! I’m not fussy about reals or fakes - it’s what’s inside that counts! In recent times I’m taking special notice of the blonde women (I’d like a piece of that Annie Sayers!) but until further notice I’m sticking with the men! Love to you all xxx
Totally agree with Ricardo; being a typical merseyside blonde I’m pretty fun loving and loose, not really bothered whether my man is real, fake or even blonde as long as they like my hair. My current stunning shade is ‘bile yellow’ which I first got the idea for when hugging the toilet on a night out. I think that blondes with brown eyes are so dreamy but unfortunately I’ve got green eyes that look like broken glass bottles, have thought about contacts or two eye patches to hide them.What do you guys think? And I bet you don’t sound like you’re from Merseyside! Night’s out are like the best (!) - one time a few weeks ago I just had this thing going on with the floor - all night I was kissing it! Contacts are a fabulous solution, I love them! I have a few different colours so that I increase or decrease the intensity of my blue depending on how desperate I’m feeling - for example last Thursday I went with sky blue! My mum tells me my eyes sparkle all the time so it’s definitely worth a try! Would love to know what others think?? On a personal note…Annie - we should go for a chinese sometime xx

Whilst we’re on the subject, I love the Lighthouse Family and have all their CDs; before I do any advocacy I listen to Lifted - it’s my recipe for ‘outstanding’ success. I remember the night you kept on falling over, it was very endearing. Not sure about your eyes being sky blue, I’d say more infrared - you looked like an albino. Im light blonde with very very gray blue eyes..im not sure if thats common, but ive only seen one other person with eyes like it.. (other than my dad and grandma) my parents backgrounds range from english, irish, norweigian, german, and italian.. . Light brown/dark hazel eyes and dirty blond hair here. What a God-awful combination. Words can’t describe how cheated I feel– neither one of my parents have eyes like mine, and most of my siblings have blue eyes. WTF? I’ve got the ghost white skin and light hair, but not the eyes that match.
I would consider wearing colored contacts, but the affordable types seem so fake-looking.
I don’t think blue or green eyed people realize how light eyed women are put on pedestals– I think the general public attraction to blue eyes is much greater than the attraction to blond hair. By far. If I had dark brown hair, at least I could pass as an “exotic beauty”.

Now i have a full white(blonde hair blue eyes) father and a latino mother(black hair brown eyes) and what you get… is not a natural blonde. All i have is just a light brown hair with hazel eyes. same thing with blue eyes… either both of the parents have to have blue eyes.. or it just runs in the family. so if i proved my point, hope it helps =))
I came on this site searching for info on others like me. I am 46 years old and still have natural blonde hair-not dark or dishwater, but pretty blonde. I have green eyes. They used to be hazel, and the optometrist told me it’s not uncommon for your eye color to change as you age, especially if your eyes are a light color. I have always had light eyebrows and almost white body hair. I recently found a white hair on my head! A hair dresser told me several years ago that people like me, who stay blonde until they are older, usually don’t get brown or even gray hair. Instead, their hair turns white, but often at an earlier age. I’ve been searching to see if there’s any truth to this, but I can’t find info on anyone else who’s my age with natural blonde hair. My 16 year old daughter has blonde hair also and hazel eyes, with darker eyebrows. I’m very light complected, but she tans easily, more like her dad. My 15 year old son is also light complected and blond. He has gray-blue eyes (like his dad) and very light eyebrows. I can say from experience that you can have a variety of skin, brow, and eye colors and still be a natural blonde, because these differences exist in my family. While generalizations can be made, it’s never wise to speak in absolutes because there are exceptions to everything. I believe it’s true that many people are attracted to blondness. It’s something I’ve found to be true my whole life, and I see it in my daughter’s life too. I think it’s even more the case though that people are attracted to kindness, unselfishness, caring, and love. People are nice to us when we’re nice to them, they talk to us when we talk to them. There’s no denying that we’re more comfortable with what we perceive as attractive (whatever that may be for each of us) but everyone responds eventually to someone being nice to them, because we all want people to be nice to us. None of us has control over the natural color of our skin, our hair, our eyes, etc. But we all have complete control over our attitudes and the way we treat others. Be the kind of person you want to be friends with and others will find you attractive!
Just for the record, the World Health Organization states on their website that the report circulating on the internet that states they’ve concluded that blondes will be extinct by 2022 is false. They state they have no idea where the report came from, but they’ve never conducted research on this subject and have no opinion as to how long blonde genes will continue in our gene pool. This is a relief, since you’d hope they’d be spending their precious resources on sick and starving people, not researching hair color!
All my brothers and sisters have NATURAL blonde hair. But! We have brown/blonde mixed eyebrows. And the carpet doesn’t always match the drapes.

I am a natural blonde, my hair is not super light blonde, but its not dirty blonde or strawberry blonde either, its like a medium blonde, I have always had such light eyebrows that they are not even barely visible, my eyelashes are also very light colored, and my eyes are hazel, also my face is naturally very pale, people have told me I look like a ghost, I have never really seen a natural blonde with dark eyebrows, or a face that isn’t really pale, but Im sure they could be out there.
I am very pale with have natural very light blonde hair and blonde eyebrows and very dark eyes with dark eyelashes. I know its not usually colour combinations but it still does occur naturally.
My dad is 6fr 4 blonde and blue eyed and my mum is 5ft 4 with dark hair and dark eyes. So i’m a mixture of my two parents.
I actually like my look and think the contradiction is very dramatic.
Also because my hair is naturally poker straight as well, my hair is not damaged by chemicals or straighteners so is in fantastic condition and has grown waist length now.

I’m a natural “dark blond,” myself (I was a “toehead” as a little boy). The key to telling a fake blond from a real one lies not so much in eye color as it does the color of the eyebrows. Barring the use of an eyebrow pencil to darken eyebrows (which some natural blonds do because their eyebrows are otherwise too light to show up), dark eyebrows are a dead giveaway every time. Nothing looks as phony as a woman with platinum blond hair and bushy black eyebrows. Also, most bottle blonds, these days, don’t bother trying to conceal the fact anymore. There are many who have obviously black hair streaked with bleached hair.
I am a 47 year old american/italian male who has always had a thing for “true blonds” I like true platinum blonds with white blond eyelashes and eyebrows , I am single now after being married to a brunette and will never marry again unless she is a true blond. Yes, most natural blonds are bland. BLONDE is a noun; BLOND is an adjective. These are not male/female terms. You can say wow her blond haircolor is nice (adjective). You can say that damned blonde ho (noun) stole my boyfriend!
Also, the most celebrated blondes have always been the bottle blond colors. Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Pamela Anderson, et al. And some natural blondes have brown eyes. I have seen blond children of mixed racial descent with dark eyes. I am blond in hair color and it is a fake blond color but I make for one great looking blonde. Get the correct English now?

I’m 19 and I still have my natural honey-gold blond hair but I also have very dark brown eyes. Admittedly, my hair has been slowly getting darker as I’ve aged (I was born platinum) but I’m fully grown and still blonde, so yes, real blond adults and adults with naturally blond hair and brown eyes exist. Most blondes with brown eyes have that light, slightly greenish brown eye color but although we are rare, blondes with dark eyes are out there. Also, I’m purely of European decent (Italian, Slovak, and Irish) so mixed race is not a requirement for blond hair/brown eyes.
